Peter and his team were also supporting Georg Kjallgren in the Courage.  Georg qualified 8th for the first race (4th in class).  Race 1 saw Georg start in 8th where he maintained his position until the end and finished 5th in class.  Race 2 saw Georg start in 6th position, where he continued to maintain position and eventually finished 4th in class.  Another great result.

New in the workshop

We can now offer the servicing and maintenance of the Aston Martin Vantage V8 - this took engine management to a whole new level, as you can see from the photograph.

This particular car had a top half engine rebuild.  To gain access to the engine itself, you have to detach the bodywork from the chassis.

We have an extensive knowledge on Aston Martin cars, and have previously worked on the DB5, and fully restored a DB4.

 Round 5  Group C - 2nd - 4th October 2015

Dix Mille Tours Paul Ricard

Going into the final round at Paul Ricard knowing that they had  already secured the Group C1 class championship, Peter and his team were looking to finish the championship on a high, and they didn't disappoint with a 1st place finish and 1st in class.

Dijon - Masters Racing

2nd to 4th October 2015

A busy weekend for Peter and his team, with 2 major races being held in two different venues, but this didn't phase them.  Mike Donovan was racing his Lola T70 this weekend and wanted to finish the season on a high.  During free practice he was 6th fastest, but did even better during qualifying finishing 4th.  This meant that Mike started Race 1 from the 2nd row.  He had a great race and finished 9th.  In Race 2, Mike started 5th.  With the combination of the two results Mike was overall 7th, but finished 5th in class.  A great result for the end of the season.

Zandvoort

28th - 30th August 2015

Peter and the team travelled to Zandvoort to support the Lola T70 of Steve Tandy.  Steve did extremely well during qualifying and secured 3rd place.  The race got under way later, but due to the pinion failing within the car, Steve was forced to retire.

7th - 9th August 2015

Oldtimers - Nurburgring

Peter and his team travelled to Germany to support the Lola T70 of Mike Donovan.  Mike qualified 5th and started on the 3rd row for Race 1, a great race unfolded and Mike finished 5th.  This success continued in Race 2 with Mike finishing in 4th place.  With the combination of both results Mike finished overall 3rd - a great result this weekend.

Round 4 - 24th- 26th July 2015

Silverstone Classic

One of the greatest success stories of the UK motor racing scene, with large grids and huge crowds.  For the 2nd time in 3 years, torrential rain coincided with the festival adversely affecting the Group C racing programme.

As the Group C qualifying session got underway the conditions were simply terrible, to the extent that serious discussions were underway as to whether it was safe for the cars to go out.  A decision was made that all cars would need to complete a minimum of three laps behind the safety car in order to qualify.  With no meaningful qualifying data to hand, the grid was assigned on the basis of results to date for 2015.  Steve Tandy who Peter and his team were supporting in the SE90 Spice, took pole position.

As the start time approached, the field collected in the assembly area behind the Wing before making their way onto the grid, it was also decided that due to the lack of running the previous day, the race would begin with 2 laps behind the pace car, but with the clock starting to count down from the start of the 2nd lap.  Steve Tandy duly led the way for the 7.3 miles at a reduced pace before he and the rest of the runners could finally put the pedal to the metal and unleash their multidudinous horses.

Steve Tandy in the Spice held onto lead through Abbey and The Loop before the speed of his pursuers carried them past on the run down to Brooklands.  The SE90 was challenged for 3rd but maintained and responded breeching a gap.  Steve finished 3rd as the chequered flag fell.

Not all the competitors who raced Saturday would take part in the 2nd event.   The remaining cars assembled on the grid, and as they set off for the pace lap the news came that the race length would be shortened from 30 to 15 mins.  As per Race 1 the first lap was behind the pace car, and as it peeled off into the pit lane Steve Tandy in the C1 Spice was challenged for the lead by a Class 2 Spice and took the overall lead of the race before the lap was out.  Having built a lead of 2.048s by the end of Lap 3, the Class 2 Spice noticed that Steve Tandy in the C1 was coming back at him and had reduced the gap to just six-tenths by the end of Lap 4.   The SE90 pressed home and exchanged positions on the next lap, the SE90 finished with a flourish to take the flag after just 6 laps by 4.319s.

Steve Tandy and his C1 SE90 left Silverstone with an almost unassailable lead going into the final round at Paul Ricard.  Peter and his team had done a superb job again and were looking forward to the last round of the Championship.

Peter and his team also supported Steve Tandy in the Lola T70 - again with the weather conditions for qualifying being wet, starting in 26th position didn't truly reflect where the car should have been.  A great race took place the following day, where the weather conditions had improved, and as the race got underway Steve moved through the field.  As the chequered flag fell, Steve secured 4th place as well as the fastest lap of the race, reaching a speed of 102.95 mph.

4th July 2015

Donnington Park

Peter and the team had a busy weekend supporting the Lola T70 of Mike Donovan.  Mike qualified in 11th place.  A 60 minute race got under way.  Mike completed 14 laps and finished in 27th place.

Round 3 - 19th to 21st June

Monza

Group C Qualifying 1 - SE90 2nd fastest

Group C Qualifying 2 - SE90 4th fastest (3rd in class)

Race 1 - SE90 1st place finish

Race 2 - SE90 2nd place finish

Overall standing in the Championship - 1st

Peter and his team were also supporting the Lola T70  of  Mike Donovan this weekend.  In free practice the car was the 6th fastest, and maintained that for Final qualifying.  Starting Race 1 in 6th place, Mike kept up with the group but had to retire on lap 11.  This put him on the back foot for Race 2, starting 29th on the grid, and although he worked himself up through the field again he was forced to retired after 6 laps.

Round 2 - 22nd - 24th May 2015

Spa - Belgium

Qualifying 1 -  SE90 - 2nd Place

Qualifying 2 -  SE90 - 1st Place

Race 1 - SE90 - 1st place

Peter and his team had yet another successful weekend  - onto the next race weekend.

Paul Ricard - Dix Mille Tours

3rd to 5th October 2014

Peter and his team travelled to Paul Ricard for the final gathering of the 2014 Group C Racing Championship.  With a 60 minute race wrapping things up for another year, the combination of ultra-fast straights and challenging corners provided a fitting battleground for the title deciders. Qualifying took place over two sessions of which both were 45 minutes long.  The CE88 C2, clocked a time of 1:57.538 ending the session as fourth quickest and first in class, indicating that the car's rebuild after its Zandvoort woes had been a successful one.  The SE88 C2, qualified 5th for the start of the 60 minute race.  A great race unfolded with several challenges and overtaking manoeuvres at various parts of the track.  As the chequered flag fell, Mike was celebrating his second overall Group C Racing Championship victory, as well as a 1st place finish.  A fantastic end to the 2014 championship.

Zandvoort - Holland

29th to 31st August 2014

Peter and his team yet again supported the SE88 C2 this weekend.  During Q1 they secured 3rd (1st in class), then 3rd again in Q2 (1st in class).

Aston Martin DB5 Engine Rebuild

We have recently completed a full rebuild of an Aston Martin DB5 engine. There were only a handful of original components that could be used in the rebuild due to the worn condition of the engine. The block and head etc were soda blasted to maintain the original factory finish. We also fully rebuilt the carburettors with the bodies being vapour blasted. As you can see from the image below the engine was rebuilt to concours standard with every component meticulously prepared and assembled. Before the engine was installed we thoroughly cleaned and refinished the engine bay.

Jaguar MK2 Engine Rebuild

Earlier this week we completed the full engine rebuild of a Jaguar MK2 engine. Once we had removed the engine from the vhicle we removed the head and found the engine to be in a worn and tired condition. We then set about stripping the engine and thoroughly examined every component to determine which items required replacment. We finished this engine to the highest standard including sourcing the correct paint for the head. As you can see in the image below the engine now looks as good as the day it left Jaguar. The engine has now been installed and is running very well.
